REport a concern
If you are concerned that a child is being harmed, you must not keep these concerns to yourself.
Contact schools DSL - 01274 564681 OR
Bradford Children and Families Trust - 0800 953 0966 or follow the link by clicking the Bradford Children and Families Trust logo on this page
Both will listen to and record your concerns and then will take the appropriate action.
Don’t think “What if I’m wrong?” – think “What if I’m right?”
If you have reason to believe that a child is at immediate risk of harm, contact the police on 101 or 999 for emergencies.

Operation Encompass & Safeguarding at Myrtle Park Primary School
At Myrtle Park Primary School, we are part of Operation Encompass—a national initiative that enables schools and police to work together to support children who may be affected by domestic abuse. Under this scheme, schools are informed in confidence when a child has experienced a domestic incident, allowing us to offer appropriate care and support.
The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 recognises children as victims of domestic abuse, and we are committed to offering the highest standard of support to every child in our care.
At Myrtle Park Primary School, all adults:
- Receive regular safeguarding training in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education statutory guidance
- Understand and act on their responsibilities, always adopting the mindset that “it could happen here”
- Follow all school safeguarding policies and procedures
- Actively promote safe and respectful behaviour
- Build trusting relationships and act as approachable, supportive adults
- Serve as positive role models
- Are enthusiastic, dedicated, and collaborative professionals
- Recognise and celebrate each other's strengths to enhance our work with children
- Encourage children to think independently, ask questions, and seek answers
Safeguarding in the Curriculum
We deliver a comprehensive, age-appropriate safeguarding curriculum across all year groups. This includes lessons designed to help pupils make informed choices about their safety both offline and online.
Our safeguarding curriculum is delivered through CORAM SCARF PSHE lessons and Pol-Ed.
